People denied asylum by the UK, who can't get permission to go anywhere else, are forced to live in total penury, sleeping on the street and begging for food. Sometimes this goes on for many years.

The example of Enaya's husband illustrates how the UK interprets the criteria for asylum so strictly that it sends people back to face real danger.

The Palestinian residents of Hebron held a protest march against the Israeli occupiers that exclude them from part of their city. They were attacked crushingly.

Food not Bombs

Food not Bombs activists stubbornly keep feeding homeless people, even though they are arrested and jailed.

They report about thugs that throw away the food so that nobody can eat it, and cruelty activists that steal homeless peoples' shoes or hit them with baseball bats.

It would be good to publish lists of the businesses that demand repression of the homeless.

Vacant

A state in Australia will start taxing those that own apartments and leave them vacant.

I think it is a mistake to make an exception for holiday homes, because it will be easy for investors to pretend they spend holidays in the apartment in order to avoid the tax.
