Maya Forstater won lawsuit

Maya Forstater, who was dismissed from work for maintaining that gender identities are meaningless and all that matters is a person's biological sex, has won a discrimination lawsuit.

I disagree with those views, but I defend her right to state views that disagree with mine.

Hong Kong artists prosecuted

Hong Kong artists published graphic novels about wolves and sheep, that could be taken as metaphorically depicting Chinese and Hong Kongers. The wolves are now prosecuting them.

Many refugees UK plans to send to Rwanda are trafficking victims

Many of the refugees that the UK plans to send to Rwanda are victims of trafficking.

The fact that one particular refugee is a woman should make no difference whatsoever to per human rights, but being a victim of trafficking (a form of enslavement) does make a difference. Victims of trafficking must be protected so that they don't fear to report the crimes that were committed against them.

The general attitude of the current UK government is towards law is, "Laws are weapons to hit you with — not tools for defending your rights." The plan to disempower the European Court of Human Rights demonstrates this.
