Refusing to recite Pledge of Allegiance

The constitution defends a citizen's right not to recite that pledge.
The proper response to "My father fought in Vietnam and my husband fought in Afghanistan" is, "I am sure they wanted to serve their country. I deeply regret that politicians misused their loyalty."
