Some states require unemployed people to use unreliable face recognition to prove their eligibility for unemployment support. Failures can cause delays of weeks.

This is a use of face recognition for which a perfectly reliable system would do no harm. Applicants for unemployment support are required to identify themselves, after all. What worries me most is the danger of using biometrics to identify people who should be allowed anonymity.
