The Huawei irony is even greater than I realized: buying Huawei communications equipment puts you at risk of espionage, not by China, but by the US.

Is Huawei a front for Chinese military espionage? Are Microsoft, Apple, Google and Facebook fronts for US military espionage? These questions raise philosophical issues as well as factual issues.
