Military Negligence

The US military is burning its firefighting foam that contains persistent toxic PFAS chemicals, but burning it may be producing other toxins. And the replacement may not be much safer.
Toxins are not all alike. Hydrofluoric acid is very dangerous in macroscopic quantities. Does ingesting a microscopic amount each day do any harm? I don't know. Some toxic substances biodegrade and others can remain for many years.
