We must not deny the fact that businesses wield power. If we advocate democracy, we must recognize that fact by fighting to take power away from them. To treat their power as acceptable or normal is not "pragmatic". It is to abandon democracy and betray the people.

The article is right that we must not believe that businesses will profit by treating the society around them right, because most of them simply don't.
