The FBI read
a reporter's email to find his source, and claimed his
investigation was a "criminal conspiracy" because he was asking the
source questions.
That reporter and his source tried to conceal their communication.
This was presented as a sign of guilt, but it is simple common sense
for journalists working in a state that persecutes journalists. It is
a shame they did not follow
best secrecy practices.
I am glad that Obama's War on Journalism is finally getting
condemnation. When journalists investigate what our government is
doing, they and their sources our country and protect it from the
biggest internal threat it faces: the national security state which is
dominated by plutocrats.
