Being kept alive
dimanche 10 mars 2019 à 01:00Should people who want to die be kept alive to please their relatives? I don't think so. I think it is selfish and cruel to prolong the suffering of your relative who finds living horrible. The compassionate thing to do is accept per decision to end per own life.
I think it makes sense to tell those people who are still physically and mentally capable, "Here's a suicide pill, but it's up to you to take it (or not)." If person doesn't take the pill, that shows person is ambivalent about dying.
However, it's a different matter for people lost to dementia, their bodies alive but their minds dead. Their previous orders should be carried out.
