Tories push more children into poverty

mercredi 5 avril 2017 à 02:00

The Tories have found an excuse to push some more children into poverty: cut welfare support for children after the first two.

The world's population is still increasing, so it is important to adopt policies that reduce the birth rate — but not this way. Punishing parents after they have children is too late to influence their decision, and taking it out on the children is totally unjust. The first step should be to make sure all potential parents have access to effective birth control, and to counteract the natalist pressure they feel. Meanwhile, we can provide more support to people that adopt existing children rather than making new ones.
