Tokyo pour finir en beauté la série des villes olympiques #OlympicCities. J’ai eu la chance d'y aller à plusieurs reprises pour des entraînements au centre spatial Tsukuba avant ma première mission. Pour Alpha on a dû faire les sessions en visioconférence tard le soir heure de Houston, quand il était tôt le matin pour nos instructeurs japonais ! こんばんは aux confrères et consœurs de la JAXA et à tous les Tokyoïtes :cherry_blossom: :jp:

I kept one of the last of the #OlympicCities for the last day of the Olympics: Tokyo! OK it was under the clouds but the effect on this night picture is very nice. It was an Olympic event to go down in history (they all are aren't they?) Well done to all the athletes from all over the world showing the best that humans are capable of through determination, practice and teamwork (depending on the discipline, but all athletes have a team of supporters, coaches and more to guide them.) :grin:

Ces derniers jours ça a été un festival d’aurores… australes (hémisphère sud) ! Elles se produisent quand les particules chargées émises par le :sunny: interagissent avec la haute atmosphère de la Terre, toujours sous des latitudes élevées. Je n’en avais pas vu d’aussi puissantes pendant ma première mission… La lueur verte se reflète carrément sur la Station ! Je pense, honnêtement, que c’est le plus beau spectacle que la nature puisse donner à voir. Un vrai #micdrop de Mère Nature !

These last few days have been auroraspectacular! This amazing light show occurs when particles from the Sun hit Earth's magnetosphere, we were very lucky to see such outbursts and I don't remember such beautiful displays during Proxima. I think it is the most amazing thing I have ever seen that nature can give us. It is beautiful to see and photograph but also a visible show of our planet's atmosphere protecting us from radiation. I shot a few timelapses that will follow, it is another thing to watch the aurora dance! To be continued...

Immanquable en survolant le golfe de Guinée : la perle des lagunes :sparkles: Bonsoir Abidjan ! Au nord de Yopougon et aux portes de la ville, c’est le grand parc national, que de nuit on prendrait presque pour un bout de lagune :ci:
Abidjan at night, the most populous French-speaking city in Africa, and one of the most in the world, with almost over 4 million inhabitants it shines distinctively at night, especially as it stands out against the darkness of the coastal waters and the huge Banco national parc. Happy national day Ivory Coast!
