My trip to London

mardi 20 août 2013 à 07:30
I could have said I wasn't enough prepared and it could have been a disaster. I could have told people London is just like other capitals, all foggy and grey, with people everywhere walking in all directions.
But that wouldn't be the truth, because London isn't like this, and even if I didn't know how to prepare myself to this adventure, London took me by the hand and brought me in.
Saying that I didn't loose myself would be a lie, but as soon as the border was crossed, English comprehension came back just quickly and naturally. I didn't took the metro line in the wrong direction once again.
There are tho things that literally blow your mind when you're arriving in London, nearby your sleeping place. One of them is good, the other very disturbing. First, the parks. This is definitely the good thing. London parks are just amazing. Most of them are huge, and very well organized. When you understand that they are nearly everywhere, you feel how it can be a pleasure to walk for a few hours in these parks. There are therefore much more runners than you can see in Paris, for example.
Second thing, and this is very disappointing : the noise made by planes landing to and flying over London. There isn't much noise from cars or other sources you could expect in town, but hearing a plane taking off or landing every 5 minutes comes to be very annoying at some point.
However my first night wasn't mainly disturbed by planes but by the loudly snoring of one of my roommates. I'll have to tell him. Because I never heard something like that (or, when I would, I could directly woke up the person to tell her). And the poor young lad who had to left his light on, because he had afraid of the dark, as for what I understood. Oh, but the rest seems to be suitable, I think I will highly recommend this place in the future.
Thomas.
