New Zealand's Labour Party is sliding into establishing two classes of citizenship with two different laws.

It may well be that the Maori deserve compensation for being mistreated in the past by European colonists. That sort of thing has happened in many colonies including the US, Canada and Australia. I don't know enough about New Zealand history to have a firm opinion about that case.

But this compensation should not take the form of a permanent division of society between two kinds of citizens, with different rules and privileges.
