Identification in Venice

mercredi 8 septembre 2021 à 02:00

Venice tracks everyone in the city from camera to camera. Now it plans to force everyone in the city to identify perself to enter.

This is associated with a plan to collect a fee from non-residents, but I don't object to that. Maintaining Venice is expensive, and so is protecting it from sea level rise. I would not mind paying, if I could do so anonymously.

I will not go to Venice again if that practice goes into effect. But that doesn't mean I will be safe from it — because it might spread.
