Erdoğan plans to set up special courts to prosecute the thousands of people accused of supporting the coup.

It is not clear whether this will be limited to soldiers who actually participated, whom it is legitimate to prosecute, or include the tens of thousands of people who were quickly fired for supposed associations with Gülen. Even if they really supported Gülen, which is not certain, most of them surely had no part in the coup.
