J'espère voir ce projet aboutir ! Il s'agit d'un webmail (genre roundcube, zimbra, tout ça), libre, et qui met l'accent sur 1) la rapidité 2) une belle interface (à-la-gmail) 3) la sécurité (chiffrement avec openpgp).
Concernant ce dernier point, je me demande comment ils comptent faire si on utilise leur webmail pour dialoguer avec des gens qui, eux, ne l'utilisent pas (et n'ont donc pas de plugin openpgp)...
Aussi, j'espère que quand il aura aboutit, Mailpile sera très facile à installer et à configurer et ne reposera pas sur sendmail / fetchmail / postfix / etc.

A. Eventually, that is quite likely as it will help people be even more self sufficient. But for the Alpha in January, we are only focusing on the mail client aspect of the project, Mailpile will download your e-mail from a mail server much like Thunderbird or Mail.app and process it locally.
